Pattern Matched Technologies(Pty) Ltd is an award-winning WASP (Wireless Application Service Provider), telecommunications and Fintech development house, based in the Centurion area, with working from home options, as well as shared office spaces around South Africa. We are seeking to appoint a UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the various design tasks.

We are a dynamic, hyper-growth company looking for smart, creative, hard-working people with integrity to join us.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and updating brand assets and artwork for various digital mediums such as LinkedIn, our websites, and other digital media, as well as working in the UI/UX Design team on various UI/UX design projects.

Requirements

  • Experience with work on Figma.
  • Ability to create design systems.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suites such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Experience in working within an Agile/Scrum methodology environment and tools (Jira).
  • An understanding of Software Development and development lifecycles (PLC, SDLC).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of Social Media Marketing.
  • Basic knowledge of CMS systems like WordPress.

Key Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting in various UX/UI design projects internally.
  • Responsible for assisting in running our digital media campaigns such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and various other digital channels, which will include creating digital content.
  • Understand our branding requirements and must be able to create new media following those specific sets of guidelines.
  • Understand our product specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining our website and updating website designs.
  • Maintain PMT brand identity and digital assets across the organisation.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating our product and company whitepapers.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity across all content created in the company.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication or a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field experience.
  • Knowledge of User Interfaces and User Experience design with qualifications or related field experience.
  • 2 years graphic design experience working in the creative cloud as well as with graphic design tools (Competent, confident and experienced in using Adobe programmes: Illustrator, Photoshop; extras would be Premier, After Effects, and XD).
  • 2 years UX/UI Design work experience and working in Figma.
  • Strong communication, conceptual thinking, typography skills and design skills.
  • At least 1 year working experience on a CMS (WordPress).
  • Experience in managing/organising your own workload, meeting required standards, and deadlines.
  • Appropriate qualification in graphic design or brand design or digital marketing.
  • Experience in creating image-based content for web/social media.
  • Dedication to innovative, sophisticated designs and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to strategise and conceptualise client content.
  • Previous social media content creation is advantageous.

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with video animation software such as After Effects or video animations and adverts, but not required.
  • Knowledge in HTML and CSS, but not required.
