Minimum Qualifications:

8 - 10 years experience in a similar environment, of which 2 - 3 years at senior specialist level.

Postgraduate Degrees and Professional Qualifications [Level TBA: Pre-2009 was L7] in Finance Economics and Accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate and maintain effective SLAs with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Institute effective Practice Management to facilitate or identify financial advisers' needs and solve for requirements to develop a profitable practice.
  • Participate in investment product implementation (presentations, product development, and client service support).
  • Provide marketing support for investment projects and campaigns.
  • Implement an intermediary support model to facilitate support between SBI, the intermediary, and the various IAM and Standard Bank Group product providers by supplying accurate investment, product, fund, service, and investor information.
  • Determine resource allocation priorities and deployment necessary to support the effective integration of processes and development of practice/s.
  • Plan to deliver work outputs related to a service or operational area, manage interdependent functional activities, and direct best-practice priorities, standards, and procedures to ensure efficiency within the area of specialization.
  • Draw on own technical and/or professional knowledge and experience to proactively develop alternatives and identify optimal best practice solutions for tactical problems.
  • Accountable for contributing to strategy enablement and implementation and delivery optimization across an internal value chain, through best practice development and implementation.
  • Keep abreast of changes and new legislation and developments within industries that may affect the area of specialization.
  • Advise on the alignment and application of area-specific practices and integrated processes across functional areas to ensure value chain integrity.
Customer
  • Act as a Category I authorized representative for the purposes of rendering advice.
  • Provide investment consultation to advisers and potentially individual clients by adopting asset allocation strategy and financial planning through a variety of investment products; Stock, Mutual Fund, Bond, Structured products.
  • Develop and implement a regional business plan for sales volumes by strategizing investment education and training, marketing, and client services.
  • Drive profitable annual sales volumes and monthly targets by directly and actively growing and managing an intermediary portfolio via existing Group infrastructure.
  • Provide authoritative, specialist expertise and advice to internal/external customers that builds strong relationships and creates a favorable impression aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles.
Finance
  • Implement and monitor financial controls, management of costs, and corporate governance throughout the area of specialization.
Learning and Growth
  • Actively invest in and monitor the training and development needs of the intermediary and junior investment specialists.
  • Contribute positively to human capability improvement, related to knowledge optimization and associated with the area of specialization.
Governance
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements (e.g. FAIS, FICA).
  • Develop and/or align governance and compliance policies for own practice and/or tactical area to identify and manage risk exposure liability related to the area of specialization.
