Job Description: At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS), we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management.

J&J MedTech is recruiting for a Supervisor Facilities Engineering reporting to the Manager Facilities Management Services EMEA within the Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) department and to be based in Johannesburg (South Africa).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee Facilities & Engineering teams to support organizational objectives in partnership with key business stakeholders and the Engineering and Property Services organization.
  2. Manage day-to-day operations related to the design, delivery, and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure to achieve long-term organizational goals.
  3. Supervise individual contributors, facilities services contractors, and strategic partners, accountable for conducting effective performance management.
  4. Cooperate with Engineering and Property services organization to manage strategic partnerships and contracts related to facilities management, including regular KPI reviews and financial management.
  5. Work closely with local business leads and Engineering and Property services organization to ensure alignment and accurate planning for facilities services OPEX.
  6. Lead project management, maintenance, and improvement processes for the organization's capital investments (CAPEX, Long Range Financial Planning) leveraging facility failure data to improve production reliability and safety.
  7. Assist with coordination of processes and assignments for Facilities Engineering to ensure delivery of consistent work products.
  8. Maintain steady workflow and productivity, resolving operational issues within the department.
  9. Manage operational aspects of the team (e.g., workflow, performance, compliance), ensuring achievement of team goals within expected standards.
  10. Cooperate with enabling functions of the local business organization, mainly with Quality and EHS departments to achieve annual and long-term objectives.
  11. Collaborate with other partnering functions within the Engineering and Property services organization (Project Delivery, Real Estate, Workplace experience) to meet company strategic goals and objectives.
  12. Understand and apply Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with the team.
Education & Experience:
  1. Education: Technical / Project Management education background. Minimum Secondary Technical / Project Management School / Lyceum. Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  2. Professional certifications: Lean, Six Sigma Green / Black belt preferred.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
  1. Minimum 5 years facilities management experience or equivalent.
  2. Proven experience developing and leading facilities project programs.
  3. Working knowledge of site services including technical and people-related services.
  4. Problem-solving ability and ownership of projects and initiatives.
  5. Ability to work strategically while maintaining a tactical / operational focus.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-national team.
  7. Adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
  8. Computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  9. Fluent and confident in English.
  10. Candidate must comply with GENERAL MACHINERY REGULATIONS (GMR).
  11. Candidate must comply with 'competent person' definitions as described within the above-mentioned (GMR).
