Be hands-on with the tools and collaborate with multiple product squads to deliver collective outcomes, covering the following:

  1. Implement platform provisioning and maintenance solutions, e.g., setting up cloud platform resources, middleware configuration, databases, etc. with IaC.
  2. Implement release engineering solutions, e.g., setting up release pipeline, release notes, application deployment, etc.
  3. Implement operational workflow and orchestration solutions, e.g., job scheduling, file transfer, etc.
  4. Implement workforce computing solutions, e.g., provisioning end-user computing resources, identity & access management, etc.
  5. Implement operations automation using configuration and orchestration toolsets, as well as scripting frameworks.
  6. Promote adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
  7. Develop using various tools such as Azure Bicep and PowerShell.
  8. Promote timely feedback to drive continuous improvement, automation, and focus on value delivery.
  9. Assume technical accountability for the successful implementation of changes.
  10. Assess and manage technical risks, ensuring the non-functional requirements are being captured and met.
  11. Assist root-cause analysis of support incidents and issues.
  12. Assist your team in tracking application issues and provide clear feedback on potential changes or improvements where applicable.
  13. Identify, analyze, and support the resolution of application issues with internal and external parties.
  14. Support team leads and members on all technical matters to achieve team outcomes.
  15. Contribute to the realization of the technical vision of the IT products that are being built, ensuring alignment to enterprise quality assurance and governance practices, and be an advocate of DevSecOps practices.

Knowledge acquired awareness and/or experience:

  1. Must have at least 10 years of experience with Servers, Dell, HP, Cisco Switches, and routers.
  2. Must be able to use PowerShell as a language; write conditions, permissions, and error handling.
  3. Must be able to write your own Bicep.
  4. Good Terraform experience.
  5. Minimum 2 years or more with Azure cloud infrastructure setup and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with BICEP.
  6. Minimum 2 years of experience in Azure Cloud DevOps engineer role with PowerShell and DSC.
  7. Experience with various DevOps concepts, tools, and technologies.
  8. Experience with CI/CD and related toolsets, good understanding of Azure DevOps.
  9. Experience with operations integrations (e.g., system integrations via API, file transfer, etc.).

Experience in Agile framework supporting CI/CD processes.

Experience with infrastructure and network management (e.g., system patching, middleware upgrade, monitoring, etc.).

Experience with local data centre resource management and setup.

Basic understanding of security and vulnerability management (e.g., firewall configuration, endpoint upgrade, security patching, etc.).

Industry/business knowledge of the Insurance market (preferably with experience in General Insurance) is highly desirable.

Skills acquired awareness and/or experience:

  1. Skills in infrastructure/network fundamentals, administrative toolsets, and scripting.
  2. Ability to perform technical work breakdown and estimation.
  3. Ability to configure and deploy network and cloud infrastructure resources.
  4. Ability to configure CI/CD toolsets such as Azure DevOps or equivalent.
  5. Ability to configure and leverage modern work tracking toolset (e.g., Azure Boards, Jira).
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate, advocate, and influence team culture and bring people on the journey.

Qualifications (Formal study undertaken and completed):

  1. Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related Technology discipline preferred.
  2. Azure and/or DevOps related certifications are highly desirable.
