Our client, specialising in concrete roof tiles, is looking for a Millwright to work in Bronkhorstspruit. The successful candidate must ensure minimal downtime and smooth operation of the factory. Ensure that the factory equipment is setup correctly for various profiles. Be hands-on and make certain that autonomous maintenance issues are resolved timeously. Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple tasks.

Job Responsibilities :

Safety

  1. Identify specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of your work and take corrective action to minimize these.
  2. Wear personal protective clothing provided by the company.
  3. Escalate any safety issue within your work area to the factory foreman.
  4. Apply LOTOTO when entering guarded areas.

Quality

  1. Conduct maintenance to a high standard.

Operational

  1. Responsible to maintain all equipment in the factory.
  2. Do daily check lists on the Equipment prior to start up and at the end of shift (Clean photo cells, clean Strapper heads, etc.).
  3. Apply autonomous maintenance principles (visual, hearing, and vibration) to determine any variation in the equipment and report to factory foreman.
  4. Clean equipment and floor area.
  5. Ensure that all equipment in the factory operate smoothly.
  6. Assist with breakdowns.
  7. Good housekeeping in line with 5S principles.
  8. Upon completion of jobs, communicate with factory foreman and Line Supervisor.
  9. Any other reasonable duties he may be called upon to either assist with or execute as and when necessary.
  10. Work Shifts and Weekends.

Qualifications :

  1. Grade 12 Certificate.
  2. Millwright (Electrical / Mechanical) trade qualification.
  3. Working knowledge of SAP would be beneficial.
  4. At least 3 years' experience in a production and industrial environment.

Skills :

  1. Sound Knowledge on Omron, Siemens and ABB PLCs.
  2. Experience on Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
  3. Able to read and interpret Instructions, Setup Procedures, Electrical Drawings and Manuals.
  4. Ability to do problem solving.
  5. Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  6. Committed to safety and teamwork.
  7. Highly motivated.
  8. Ability to organize and plan tasks.
  9. Ability to do fast and effective Electrical and Mechanical fault finding.
  10. Self-Directing: Able to work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight.
  11. Perform daily inspections.
  12. Perform any duties as and when required.
  13. Attending and be participative in meetings.
  14. Adhere to all SHEQ procedures.
  15. Maintain 5S and Housekeeping standards.
  16. Sound organizational and interpersonal skills.
  17. Good command of English language, both written and spoken.
  18. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  19. Must be able to control and supervise workers under him.
  20. Must be reliable.
  21. Must be a team player.
