Production Responsibilities
  • Execution of planned production activities.
  • Ensuring targets are achieved.
  • Pre-shift meeting and inspection of work areas.
  • Monitors performance by means of reports, charts, graphs, studies, and visual inspections.
  • Loading, Hauling and Dump Control.
  • Loading areas.
  • Administration.
Maintenance Management
  • Ensure machinery is kept in good working condition.
  • Daily inspections.
Labour Management
  • Ensure complement is managed in line with budget.
  • Ensure subordinates' KPIs are clearly defined.
  • Overtime management.
  • Leave management.
  • Industrial relations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • National Senior Certificate.
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
  • A Diploma or Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering will be advantageous.
  • Must have an open pit blasting or rock breaking certificate.
  • Competency A, Legal Liability.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an open pit mining environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Must have proven experience with open pit heavy equipment fleet and open pit operations and be mechanically inclined.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
  • Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination as required by the designated mines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines as determined by the supervisor.
  • Must possess basic problem-solving and self-management skills.
