About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Industrial Electrical Maintenance Engineer to manage and optimize electrical maintenance operations in Nelspruit . This critical role involves ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems and equipment within a busy industrial environment. You will lead the maintenance team, develop preventative maintenance strategies, and troubleshoot complex electrical issues to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency in the Mpumalanga region. This position requires a proactive, hands‑on approach and a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for electrical faults, ensuring rapid and effective resolution.
- Supervise and mentor a team of electrical maintenance technicians.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for electrical maintenance needs.
- Ensure all electrical maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for system improvements.
- Oversee electrical installations and modifications, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or processing plant.
- Strong knowledge of motor controls , PLC systems , VFDs , and industrial power distribution.
- Experience with electrical safety procedures (e.g., LOTO) and risk assessments.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical manuals.
