Job Purpose:

The Deli Assistant will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our customers, preparing and presenting deli products, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.
  • Provide product information and recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Product Preparation:
  • Prepare, slice, weigh, and package deli products such as meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
  • Ensure all products are presented attractively and labeled accurately.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure all products are fresh and within their sell-by dates.
  • Assist with inventory counts and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Sanitation and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working in a deli, grocery store, or food service environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products, food preparation, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
