Overview Electrical Design Engineer – Data Centers Location : South Africa Contract Type : Permanent Leap29 is assisting a leading global client in the data center sector to hire an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of critical infrastructure projects across South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for developing electrical system designs (MV / LV), coordinating with civil and mechanical teams, and interfacing with Eskom and local utilities to ensure reliable power supply. You’ll also contribute to implementing energy-efficient and resilient solutions that meet the region’s growing demand for sustainable data center capacity. Key Responsibilities Produce and review electrical designs, single-line diagrams, and load calculations Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams through concept, design, and commissioning phases Liaise with Eskom and local municipalities on MV / HV connections and approvals Ensure compliance with SANS standards, safety regulations, and client specifications Support optimization for power usage effectiveness (PUE) and system resilience Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Proven experience in data center or mission-critical facility design Knowledge of MV / LV systems, UPS, generators, and power distribution networks Familiarity with SANS codes and experience working with Eskom is highly desirable Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD or ETAP is advantageous #J-18808-Ljbffr
