Since its foundation in 1894, City of London School for Girls has fostered a culture of brave scholarly enquiry and academic excellence in which our highly able students and teachers learn and thrive. We are seeking a well-qualified, enthusiastic teacher to join our successful design and technology department and maintain high standards of teaching and learning. This role is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract as maternity leave cover from April 2026, and either on a full time or part time basis. Please state your preference when applying. Experience teaching GCSE and A Level design and technology is desirable, as is familiarity with ICT and CAD/CAM. However, ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply, and tailored training will be provided for the right candidate. A strong understanding of health and safety in practical environments is essential. We are looking for a teacher with a proven track record of success at Key Stages 3 and 4, and ideally Key Stage 5. At KS3, students complete practical design tasks across the curriculum. Experience in workshop skills and CAD software (e.g., TechSoft, Onshape, Shapr3D) is advantageous. At KS4 and KS5, we follow the OCR design and technology specifications, specialising in product design with timbers as our core material area. The successful candidate will: Deliver engaging lessons that challenge and support students to achieve their full potential Follow departmental schemes of work and contribute to their development Collaborate with colleagues on projects and curriculum planning Provide constructive feedback on student work and homework The closing date for this role is 12pm on Friday 5 December 2025.
