Business Development Specialist – Johannesburg (Forex, English Speaker) Primary Purpose: To generate revenue for Bidvest by sourcing new clients and proactively managing accounts to maximize profitability. To grow and retain a portfolio of banking relationships by proactively adding value through partnership, and to provide banking solutions and services to maintain and grow the existing customer base. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Matric, National Diploma – Finance/Certificate in Banking, RE5 Ideal: BCom Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Banking Competencies Ability to develop a plan to achieve sales objectives and targets. Financial acumen with sound FX business knowledge. Strong success in new business sales. Strong communicator, with understanding of sales principles. Negotiation skills. Able to establish and build long‑term client relationships. Sound Financial Services/FX market knowledge. Credit assessment and deal structuring skills. Knowledge of developments in money markets, legislation and statutory requirements. Experience: 3 to 5 years in Forex or similar role. Duties and Responsibilities FX Revenue & Profitability Plan, initiate and drive sales to achieve targets for Forex clients. Acquire and onboard new customers. Ensure sales targets and budgets are met. Contribute to revenue and returns generation. Customer Centricity and Stakeholder Management Deliver excellent customer experience aligned to Bidvest Bank services standards. Achieve NPS customer survey target. Ensure client visits are done against agreed target. Maintain continuous client interaction through face‑to‑face and telephonic check‑ins. Address client queries timeously. Proactively manage review process of client facilities. Train and assist clients on relevant systems for efficient bank dealings. Ensure onboarding aligns to internal processes (compliance, credit, stakeholder engagement). Encourage activation of new accounts and offer additional account services. Ensure all sales leads are submitted and result in agreed conversion. Identify cross‑selling opportunities and achieve agreed conversion. Manage portfolio through cross‑selling of right products and services. Promote Bidvest Bank through product cross‑selling (ABF, BMS, Trade Finance, etc.). Proactively identify migration and conversion opportunities. Stakeholder management with legal, credit, bankers, back office and treasury to meet client needs. Operational Excellence Accurate capture of customer information during account origination. Seamless onboarding aligned to compliance, credit and internal processes. Ensure accurate capture, updates and amendments of customer information. Perform KYC verification throughout customer lifecycle. Assist with SARB and manage applications. Follow up to resolve queries. People Management Contribute to teamwork, accountability and quality of information sharing. Share knowledge and provide mentoring to build team skills. Provide weekly/monthly sales reports to track progress. Review and update client files. Update all client interaction on CRM. Learning and Growth Drive own career development through a Personal Development Plan. Develop knowledge related to compliance and ethical business practices trends.
