We’re Hiring: Tax Compliance Supervisor | Leading Auditing Firm – Port Elizabeth Location: Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape About the Opportunity Our client, a leading auditing and professional services firm in Port Elizabeth, is seeking a motivated and experienced Tax Compliance Supervisor to join their growing Tax Department. In this key role, you’ll support the Tax Manager and Tax Director in supervising the tax team, overseeing tax compliance processes, managing SARS interactions, and ensuring accurate, high-quality delivery of all tax-related work. Key Responsibilities • Supervise and support tax department staff • Assist with complex income tax and provisional tax returns • Oversee the administration of SARS correspondence, assessments, and notifications • Manage and track the tax dispute resolution process, including objections, appeals, and Tax Ombud complaints • Liaise with SARS on behalf of the firm and its clients • Review tax calculations, refunds, and compliance reports • Advise clients and staff on tax-related matters • Ensure deadlines and compliance standards are consistently met • Support the Tax Manager with training, system updates (GreatSoft), and reporting • Monitor tax lists, disputes, and refund progress monthly • Assist with Tax Exemption applications and related submissions • Ensure compliance with the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM) and Code of Conduct Qualifications & Experience • Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject • Relevant Tax or Accounting qualification • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax environment • Registered Tax Practitioner (or eligible to register) • Proven experience liaising with SARS • Solid understanding of the Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, and VAT Act • Experience with tax dispute resolution processes Skills & Competencies • Strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • Confident in client service and team supervision • Proficient in Microsoft Office, GreatSoft, SARS e-Filing, and LexisNexis • Ability to work independently under pressure • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability • Commitment to continuous professional development Why Join Our Client?
