About the Role
As a Credit Controller , you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, maximising cash collection, reducing aged debt, and maintaining accurate customer records. You will play a key role in ensuring payment terms are met while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collect outstanding debt
- Allocate customer payments accurately and timeously
- Reconcile payments against bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to
- Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, debit notes, and account queries
- Maintain accurate customer account information and records
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues
- Process daily EDI invoicing files
- Escalate overdue accounts where debt recovery action may be required
- Support the Credit Control Team Leader and Credit Manager as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in Credit Control, Debtors, or Accounts Receivable
- Experience working within a high-volume environment advantageous
- Strong understanding of credit risk and debt recovery processes
- Excellent numerical and reconciliation skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable handling difficult payment conversations and account disputes
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
