About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Lead Project Manager to spearhead significant infrastructure development projects in Welkom . In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale infrastructure initiatives, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and quality outcomes. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and navigate complex regulatory environments. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to deliver complex projects, driving the successful development and implementation of vital infrastructure that serves the community and supports economic growth in the Free State province, fostering a collaborative environment for project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of major infrastructure development projects.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Report project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders regularly.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural), Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management , with a focus on infrastructure development .
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale public or private infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, financial oversight, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, vital for projects in Welkom .
  • Experience with relevant government procurement processes and regulations in South Africa.
