Our client is a leading South African building contractor with a proven track record of delivering high-quality commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use developments. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Agent to lead the successful execution of major construction projects in the Western Cape.
Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related built environment qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ technical construction experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Site Agent or site management role
- Professional registration with SACPCMP as a Construction Manager advantageous
- Proven experience delivering large-scale building construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction programming, quality management, and cost control
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Sound knowledge of construction health and safety legislation
- Ability to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours when required
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all site operations from project commencement through to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Promote, manage, enforce, and monitor health, safety, and environmental compliance on site
- Take full responsibility for quality assurance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle
- Drive short- and long-term construction programmes to achieve project milestones
- Monitor and control project costs to maximise commercial performance
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient project execution
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Prepare progress reports and ensure contractual obligations are met
- Report directly to the Contracts Manager and contribute to the successful delivery of projects
