Our client, a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering young people through skills development and mentorship, is looking for a dynamic Youth Development Coordinator to join their team in Bloemfontein, Free State. This role is central to designing, implementing, and managing programs that foster personal growth, educational attainment, and employability among youth in the community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for youth empowerment, excellent organizational skills, and a proven ability to engage and inspire young individuals. You will work closely with schools, community centers, and local businesses to create meaningful opportunities and support systems. This is a ground-level role demanding hands‑on involvement and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by youth in the Bloemfontein area. We are seeking an energetic and committed individual ready to make a significant contribution to the future of young people. This is a full‑time, office‑based position requiring direct engagement within the community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement youth-focused programs that address educational, social, and vocational needs.
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and mentorship activities for young participants.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders to support program delivery.
- Recruit, screen, and onboard participants for various youth development initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to young people, helping them navigate personal and educational challenges.
- Organize and supervise youth events, outings, and community engagement projects.
- Monitor participant progress and program effectiveness, collecting feedback for continuous improvement.
- Assist in fundraising efforts by documenting program impact and success stories.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and participant data.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Youth Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with youth in a program coordination or facilitation role.
- Demonstrated understanding of youth development principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience in event planning and volunteer management is an asset.
- Familiarity with the social and educational landscape of Bloemfontein and the Free State province.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of young people and adults.
