Our client is seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join their Distribution Networks team in Soweto . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate passionate about the energy sector . You will support the design, planning, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, working under the guidance of experienced engineers. This role provides hands‑on experience with critical infrastructure, contributing to the reliable supply of electricity to the community and gaining invaluable skills in a dynamic field. You will be an integral part of a team committed to enhancing the local power grid.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and planning of electrical distribution networks , including load forecasting and equipment sizing.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in the supervision of construction and maintenance activities.
- Help troubleshoot and diagnose faults within the distribution network.
- Contribute to the analysis of network performance and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
- Learn and apply relevant engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with exposure to power distribution .
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and power systems.
- Familiarity with CAD software and basic engineering design tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and develop within the energy industry .
