About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Risk Manager to join their insurance division in Polokwane . This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating a wide range of risks that could impact the company's operations and financial stability. You will develop and implement robust risk management frameworks and policies, working closely with various departments to foster a strong risk-aware culture. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders while also enjoying the flexibility of remote work, contributing significantly to the organization's resilience and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks across the organization, including operational, financial, strategic, and compliance risks.
- Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls, monitoring their effectiveness.
- Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the board, highlighting key exposures and mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices for risk management.
- Promote a strong risk management culture throughout the organization through training and communication.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management , preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with relevant South African regulations impacting the insurance industry.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, balancing in-office collaboration with remote autonomy.
