About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead critical sourcing initiatives within the Richards Bay area. This role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that deliver significant cost savings, mitigate risk, and drive innovation across key spend categories. You will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and build strong, long-term relationships with strategic suppliers. This position offers a dynamic work environment with a hybrid model, blending focused remote work with essential in-person collaboration and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement category strategies for assigned spend areas, focusing on total cost of ownership and value creation. Lead complex sourcing projects, including RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiation. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and risk factors to inform sourcing decisions. Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance improvement and fostering innovation. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure procurement solutions meet their needs. Monitor procurement performance against key metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Requirements Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement leadership. Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and value through strategic sourcing initiatives. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market intelligence. Excellent negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder management skills.
