About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and empathetic Remote Social Worker to join their virtual team, focusing on providing comprehensive family support services. This role is exclusively remote, allowing you to deliver critical assistance to families from anywhere. You will manage a caseload, conduct virtual assessments, develop intervention plans, and connect families with essential resources. This position is vital for strengthening family units and ensuring the well-being of children and vulnerable family members. Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments of families via video conferencing and online tools.
- Developing and implementing individualized family support and intervention plans.
- Providing counseling and emotional support to families facing various challenges.
- Connecting families with community resources, including financial aid, housing, and educational programs.
- Monitoring family progress and making necessary adjustments to support plans.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential electronic client records and progress notes.
- Collaborating with other professionals (therapists, educators, medical staff) virtually.
- Facilitating virtual family therapy sessions or support groups as needed.
- Advocating for families' needs and rights within relevant systems.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements for social work practice.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Current registration and licensure as a Social Worker in South Africa.
- Significant experience in family-centered practice, counseling, and case management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in conducting remote client assessments and interventions.
- Excellent virtual communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening via digital platforms.
- Strong ability to manage time effectively and maintain organization in a remote work setting.
- Proficiency in using video conferencing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- A deep commitment to social justice and empowering families.
- Reliable internet connectivity and a suitable home office environment.
- Understanding of child protection laws and family dynamics.
