About the Role

This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in assessing and mitigating credit exposure for the bank. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk policies, procedures, and limits.
• Analyze and assess creditworthiness of corporate clients and complex financial transactions.
• Monitor the credit portfolio, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain credit risk models, stress testing scenarios, and early warning indicators.
• Ensure compliance with Basel Accords and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with business development teams to provide risk insights on new product offerings and client acquisition.
• Manage relationships with rating agencies and external stakeholders.
• Prepare regular reports on credit risk exposure, portfolio quality, and emerging trends for senior management.
• Lead and mentor a team of credit risk analysts and officers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in credit risk management within the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of corporate credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and credit scoring models.
• Proficiency in risk management software and data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, SARB regulations).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in managing diverse credit portfolios.
