This individual will play a key dual role leading QA teams and owning test data strategy and implementation across squads and platforms.**KEY RESULT AREAS**• Define and implement test automation strategy, frameworks, and best practices. • Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and mobile applications. • Lead and coordinate QA efforts across multiple squads/platforms. • Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineers to break down user stories and clarify requirements. • Estimate automation efforts, schedule test activities, and define testing scope. • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and delivery. • Manage regression test execution and ensure test environments are maintained and aligned. • Perform hands-on scripting and debugging of automation issues (Selenium, Appium, Karate). • Provide test reporting and analytics, and communicate status to stakeholders. • Conduct risk analysis and identify improvement opportunities in testing processes. • Mentor and guide junior QA and automation engineers to build technical capabilities. • Stay updated with emerging testing tools and AI-driven automation trends.**ROLE REQUIREMENTS****Education Requirement •** Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject. • Automation, Performance, Cloud, Testing certifications would be advantage• Proven experience with test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cucumber, RestAssured, Karate, etc.). • Strong programming/scripting skills in Java (preferred), Python, JavaScript, or Groovy. • Hands-on experience with API testing and integration. • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Familiarity with cloud-based mobile testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, HeadSpin). • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and version control (Git). • Excellent understanding of QA processes, defect life cycle, and release management. • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills. • Understanding of test metrics and dashboards for reporting quality KPIs.**Skills**Action Planning, Adaptive Thinking, Data Compilation, Data Management, Evaluating Information, Executing Plans, Legal Practices, Oral Communications, Policies & Procedures, Project Quality Management, Project Testing, Report Review, Test Case Management**Competencies**Business Insight### ### Communicates Effectively### ### Cultivates Innovation### ### Drives Results### ### Ensures Accountability### ### Instills Trust### ### Manages Complexity### ### Optimizes Work Processes**Education****Closing Date**29 November 2025 , 23:59***The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit in question.******The Old Mutual Story***Old Mutual is a premium African financial services organisation that offers a broad spectrum of financial solutions to retail and corporate customers across key market segments in 14 countries.
