ABOUT MAMATWAN: The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open‑cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago. ABOUT THE ROLE: This role is a permanent full‑time position. As an Artisan Boilermaker, you will be responsible for timely install, repair, fabricate and maintenance of plant equipment and structures in a safe manner to ensure the process plant is operated safely as well as operate equipment and test all working parts in the functional area to ensure proper utilisation. Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: Interprets and coordinates pre‑work with regards to repairs, interpretation of hydraulic diagrams, planned and predictive maintenance. Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on equipment. Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment. Maintains a clean and safe worksite. Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment. ABOUT YOU: You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Qualified Artisan in a mining environment. Knowledge and experience on bucket and GET. Includes experience on fabricate and maintenance. Repair structural frames by development and fabricate from complex drawings. Mark off basic regular engineering shapes. Oxy‑acetylene and plasma cutting/gauging. Qualifications for this role are: Welder / Plater / Boilermaker Trade Test.
