Overview Newly Qualified Chartered Accountant – Process Automation & Systems Migration Cape Town, South Africa. We utilize technology to unlock capacity and foster higher-level thinking. Our interdisciplinary team collaborates with clients to understand their key challenges, initiating a person-centred design process focused on automating repetitive tasks and creating impactful, real-time dashboards. We aim to apply an integrated perspective to technology evaluation, digital transformation, low-code development, and rapid software prototyping. About the Role We are seeking a newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) interested in more than a traditional finance role. This is a unique opportunity to become a finance systems architect, passionate about automating manual tasks, detail-oriented, driven by clarity, and eager to scale accounting functions using technology from the inside out. You will work directly with the CEO to redesign finance operations, lead accounting software migrations (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks to Zoho Books or vice versa), and ensure accuracy in financial data. About You You are meticulous and curious. Requirements CA(SA) qualified High attention to detail—accuracy is critical. Strong knowledge or curiosity about accounting systems and migration principles. Interest in automation, systems, or low-code tools. Nice-to-have: Experience with platforms like Zoho Books, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. Exposure to finance process automation tools or scripting. Projects demonstrating care for structure, quality, and user experience. Knowledge of SQL or Python, or curiosity about coding. Your Responsibilities Accounting System Conversions – Lead or assist in migrating client accounting systems to platforms like Zoho Books. Clean and reconcile historical data, including chart of accounts mapping and transaction integrity. Design and test configurations for automated bank feeds, recurring journals, and taxes. Ensure data fidelity throughout the migration process. Process Architecture & Automation – Map current processes and identify manual dependencies. Design automated, scalable workflows. Collaborate with engineers to implement these workflows using Zoho tools and low-code platforms. Financial Control & Logical Integrity – Ensure automated flows align with proper accounting treatment. Perform reconciliations and sanity checks at each stage. Own the details and resolve discrepancies before proceeding. Cross-Functional Engagement – Act as a bridge between finance and engineering teams. Participate in meetings to assess needs, design solutions, and recommend actions.
