The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Skills Development Programme (SDP) is an 18-month internship programme aimed at equipping 80 unemployed graduates with technical knowledge and practical workplace experience in energy efficiency and building performance management.The programme supports building owners and accounting officers by providing trained graduates who assist with the collection and analysis of building data, registration of buildings on the EPC platform, issuance of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), identification of energy audit opportunities, and implementation of energy efficiency improvements.The programme combines structured learning with Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) through placements at host institutions across selected provinces in South Africa.

Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse building data required for EPC registration and assessments.
- Support the registration of buildings on the Energy Performance Certificate platform.
- Assist with the issuance of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
- Identify buildings that may require energy audits.
- Support ESCO initiatives aimed at implementing energy efficiency improvements.
- Participate in workplace-based learning activities and practical assignments.
- Assist with monitoring and improving building energy performance.
- Support regulatory compliance relating to building energy performance standards.
- Work with host institutions and programme stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
- South African citizen.
- Aged between 18 and 35 years.
- Completed NQF Level 7 qualification or higher.
- Academic record/transcript required.
