Skills Must have skills in SolidWorks PDM experience advantageous Must have knowledge in Design, Manufacturing, Sheet Metal, Agriculture, Food Processing, Layout Design Responsibilities The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, detailing, and optimizing complete plant layouts and mechanical systems using SolidWorks. The role requires a balance of practical engineering knowledge and creative design skills to develop efficient, cost‑effective, and safe manufacturing solutions. Develop complete plant layouts for processing and manufacturing facilities (including material flow, ergonomics, and service routing). Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks (experience with PDM is advantageous). Work closely with project engineers, fabrication teams, and installers to ensure accurate and buildable designs. Produce detailed fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and BOMs. Conduct design reviews, clash detection, and simulation checks where required. Apply sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency. Ensure compliance with company design standards and client specifications. Support installation teams with design clarification, redlines, and on‑site adjustments. Participate in R&D and continuous improvement initiatives for standardization and innovation. Suitable candidate must have 3–7 years of mechanical design experience, with at least 3 years focused on plant layout or process system design. Qualifications BEng / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proficient in SolidWorks (3D modelling, sheet metal, weldments, assemblies, and detailing). Experience with industrial or agricultural plant design preferred (e.g., food, nut, or grain processing). Familiar with mechanical fabrication, laser cutting, and manufacturing processes.
