Job Information Scale Buyer – Montague Gardens Branch Location: Western Cape, Cape Town Deadline: December 11 Responsibilities Ensure thorough inspection of scrap metal to be purchased and display it openly for photographing. Compliance with the Second‑hand Goods Act, accurately recording all required information. Verify captured information and photographs for correctness. Sort and grade ferrous and non‑ferrous materials. Accurately weigh customers' metals for purchase. Identify stolen and inferior material and report immediately to management. Accurately update customer information. Secure purchased metal immediately after purchase to prevent re‑purchase. Qualifications Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent. Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel. Good numeracy skills. Professional liaison skills with customers, suppliers & colleagues. Ability to work independently and in a team. Good communication skills. Ability to work quickly and under pressure. Excellent knowledge of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals. Residing in surrounding areas is advantageous. Qualifying Attributes Self‑motivated, accurate, goal‑oriented and attention to detail. Eager to learn and develop. Ability to multi‑task and manage demanding workload in a pressurised environment.
