PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (FULL TIME, On-Site, in CAPE TOWN) We’re looking to hire a talented and driven Product Development Engineer. What kind of person are we looking for? Hands-on and theoretical problem solving skills An open-minded, positive, and enthusiastic attitude Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Boundary-pusher, eager to learn new skills Ability to work well under the Head Designer and be a team player Knowledge of tools, machinery, and processes Responds well to direction and feedback Self-motivated and takes initiative Disciplined, focused, and detail-oriented Structured and organized Key responsibilities include: 3D modeling and technical drawing Researching technical solutions Designing workflows for production Creating training documents and training staff Designing production jigs and new products Supplier sourcing and evaluation Tooling and equipment sourcing Prototyping and working with CNC machinery Designing packaging and displays Cost forecasting and quoting Advising on production methods Overseeing quality control Problem solving in workshop and showroom Streamlining production infrastructure Maintaining workshop organization Researching new materials and processes Qualifications and skills required: Mechanical Engineering qualification Proficiency in: SolidWorks CAD/CAM software Excel Google Sheets What we offer: Full-time employment with a 3-month probation On-the-job training related to our techniques and products A diverse role combining various design disciplines Why join us?
