LOCUM SONOGRAPHER

We are a busy, specialized Mother & Child Hospital seeking a locum Sonographer to support our radiology team. This position is ideal for someone available once or twice a week, either in the mornings or afternoons, depending on their schedule. Key Responsibilities Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations with high diagnostic accuracy, including: Obstetric and gynaecological ultrasounds, General abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds, Neonatal/cranial ultrasounds (essential) and Small-parts, vascular and soft-tissue studies Independently complete and compile own ultrasound reports with clear clinical impressions. Work collaboratively with radiologists, referring clinicians, and the maternity and paediatric teams. Deliver patient-centered care with professionalism, sensitivity and compassion. Maintain accurate patient records and uphold quality and safety protocols. Ensure equipment is used correctly and safely, and report any faults as necessary. Requirements Registered with the HPCSA as a Sonographer. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience (experience within mother-and-child services advantageous). Confident and competent in performing neonatal cranial ultrasounds independently. Strong reporting and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage workflow effectively. Willing and able to commit to locum shifts once or twice a week, mornings or afternoons.
