We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sales Administrator with a focus on Commodity Pricing (CP) to join our sales team. As a Sales Administrator in CP, you will be responsible for quoting and driving the sales of IT commodity products, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals. This role involves close collaboration with clients, and Sales Executives, and coordination with the Bid Office for tender and bid participation.

What you’ll do:

  • Sales Collaboration: Assist Sales Executives with developing and executing sales,
  • providing expert support and timely product quotes.
  • Tender and Bid Support: Work in conjunction with the Bid Office to formulate accurate and competitive responses to tenders and bids.
  • Customer Outreach: Engage with customers to identify sales opportunities for IT commodity products, understanding and responding to their needs.
  • Quotation Accuracy: Deliver precise quotes for IT commodity products that meet customer requirements and support sales efforts.
  • Product Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT commodity products to serve as a resource for both customers and internal sales teams. Attain certifications for the various vendors needed.
  • Lead Management: Research and qualify new leads specific to the IT commodity sector, aiming to expand the customer base.
  • Achievement of Sales Targets: Strive to meet or exceed set sales quotas through effective sales support and follow-up.
  • Vendor/Distribution Relations: Negotiate with vendors/distribution for the best pricing and stay informed about product trends and availability. Understand the
  • vendor bid process and pricing benefits, the different direct contracts the vendor has for pricing. The rate of exchange implications on direct vs indirect vs ex stock to order in.
  • Improve Win Ratio: Engage and follow up with customers on all quotes issued, loss analysis to improve our hit ratio.
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives to support and enhance sales activities, including providing detailed product information and quotes.
  • Partner with the Bid Office to ensure tender and bid documents are comprehensive, competitive, and submitted on time.
  • Engage in proactive sales and follow-up activities, focusing on IT commodity products.
  • Recommend product options and enhancements to increase value for customers and to achieve sales objectives.
  • Engage with customers, and follow up on quotes issued.

Your Expertise:

  • At least 5 years of relevant sales experience, with a strong preference for experience in IT commodity products and bid preparation.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office applications.
  • Distinguishing Characteristics:
    • Proven ability to work effectively with sales teams and sales support, team dynamics, and the bid preparation processes.
    • Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to manage both sales support and bid documentation tasks efficiently.
    • Proficiency in CRM and bid management software.

Qualifications Required:

  • Essential: Matriculation certificate.
  • Preferred: A tertiary qualification in sales, business administration, or a related field.
