Industrial Engineering Sales Manager (Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial) Permanent Position Must be able to relocate near to our client’s premises if need be in JHB near Roodepoort (as the Client will not pay for your petrol going to work and back). You will be working at the company’s premises. Industry: Sales Business Development – Engineering + Manufacturing. Qualifications National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related). Business Management / Sales Management qualification advantageous. Valid driver’s licence. Essential. Minimum 5–10 years sales experience in an engineering manufacturing company. Manufacturing or technical environment experience in Sales. At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role. Familiarity with CRM systems, tender processes and technical quoting. Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators Office‑based work with frequent travel to customer sites, factories and project locations. Regular interaction with production, engineering, stores, finance and senior management. Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets, growth of new business vs existing account expansion and profitability/margin improvement. Develop and implement annual sales strategies aligned with company targets and operational capabilities. Lead, motivate and manage a diverse sales team, including sales representatives, key account managers, internal sales coordinators and technical sales engineers. Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions and skills development plans. Recruit, onboard and train new sales staff. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, industry trends and emerging technologies. Build and maintain strong relationships with key industrial clients, OEMs, contractors, consulting engineers, distributors and EPC companies. Present technical solutions to clients, including product demonstrations and site visits. Support the creation of proposals, quotations and engineered solutions. Identify and develop new business opportunities in target industries: manufacturing, mining, energy, automotive, food & beverage, utilities, OEMs, engineering firms. Oversee sales budgets, pricing strategies, discount structures and profitability. Collaborate with Finance on credit control, payment terms and contract negotiations. Maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, pipelines and orders; ensure CRM usage compliance. Customer satisfaction scores, retention and team performance metrics. Reduction in sales cycle times and improved conversion rates. Role requires strong technical acumen, commercial leadership and the ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles involving engineered products and high‑value projects. Benefits Monthly salary: Basic R40 000 to R60 000 CTC per month. Commission on top of base salary – dependent on skills, qualifications and experience. Discretionary annual performance bonus. Car allowance / company vehicle. Fuel card, laptop and phone (tools of trade). Pension, medical aid and other company benefits. Working Conditions: Office‑based with frequent travel to customer sites, factories and project locations; may involve travel between provinces and occasional cross‑border travel depending on region.
