Our client is seeking a skilled Afrikaans speaking SQL Developer to design, develop, and optimize database solutions that support business operations and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and SQL Server technologies, ensuring reliable and efficient data storage, access and integration across systems. Must be able to communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English with business and technical stakeholders. Skills and Experience Database Architecture & Optimization : Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to redesign and optimize database architecture and data warehouse structures for improved performance and scalability. Database Development : Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support applications and reporting needs. Data Integration (ETL) : Develop and implement SSIS packages to automate daily data uploads and transformations from multiple operational systems. Data Modeling : Build and maintain data models that ensure consistency, integrity, and efficiency across the data warehouse and reporting environments. Performance Tuning : Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance by identifying bottlenecks and tuning queries and indexes. Reporting Support : Provide backend SQL support for reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau, ensuring accurate and accessible data for business insights. Documentation & Requirements Analysis : Analyze business and system requirements, document technical specifications, and deliver scalable SQL-based solutions aligned with DevOps principles. Your Expertise 3+ years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Developer. Strong proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS. Experience with SQL Server 2016 or later (including SSAS exposure advantageous). Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL design principles. Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and source control tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Preferred Skills (Advantageous) Exposure to Power BI or Tableau for report integration. Experience with data cube design (SSAS). Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks. Qualifications Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
