Monate Casting is a dynamic casting studio that works with leading talent and productions across South Africa. We are seeking a skilled and versatile Studio Director to support our in-person casting sessions. The Studio Director will be responsible for filming all in-person studio auditions, operating the camera, and capturing professional headshots of auditioning talent. In addition, they will brief actors on the performance required for each role, under the supervision and guidance of the Casting Director. This position requires both technical proficiency and strong people skills, ensuring that talent feel comfortable and prepared in the audition room. This is not an everyday role — the Studio Director will be contracted on a job-to-job basis depending on production needs. Key Responsibilities Filming & Technical Operations — Operate and manage studio camera equipment during all in-person auditions. Capture professional headshots of auditioning talent. Ensure high-quality video and image standards are consistently met. Performance Briefing & Direction Brief actors and talent on audition requirements clearly and effectively. Provide basic performance direction where needed, under the guidance of the Casting Director. Support a positive and professional audition experience for talent. Studio Workflow & Collaboration Manage the flow of in-person studio sessions, ensuring punctuality and efficiency. Work closely with the Casting Director, creative team, and admin team to deliver seamless sessions. Troubleshoot technical issues quickly to minimize delays. Qualification & Skills Training or degree in Directing, Cinematography, Film Production, or a related field. Proficiency in camera operation and still photography. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with both talent and internal teams. Ability to brief and guide talent in a clear, supportive, and professional manner. Previous experience in a casting or studio environment will be advantageous. Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable under pressure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
