Human Resources Assistant

About the Company Endless Summer Technologies, a subsidiary to Johnson Outdoors requires a temporary HR Assistant based at their Durban site. About the Role This role is required to provide administrative support to the HR department. Responsibilities This is a fixed term role for 3 months only. Assist with high level recruitment, orientate new employees, processes employee changes and maintains records. Assist with coordinating new employment recruiting including the posting of advertisements, initial screening of applicants and performing reference checks. Coordinates employee change documentation and approvals including but not limited to new hire, salary adjustments, termination and personal data changes. Maintains employment records and documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports and logs. Performs auditing for a variety of human resources reports for accuracy, provides recommendations on potential improvements and makes corrections as needed. Coordinates events including organizing employee committees, company events, vendors, catering, reservations and calendaring. Assists with employee safety, welfare, wellness and compliance programs, reporting, logs and forms. COIDA and IOD's with Department of Labour. Provides general administrative support as needed such as preparing correspondence, answering calls and general reporting. Qualifications Preferred HR certification or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources providing administrative support. Required Skills Proficiency in using the Microsoft office or similar products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Demonstrated skills in using HRIS. Ability to create and run employee related reports. Professional demeanor and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with complete confidentiality and tact. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external individuals. Preferred Skills Experience in human resources.
