FIRE ENGINEER

A consulting company with offices in Durbanville, Cape Town is looking for a Fire Engineer - Building Services to join their Cape Town team. Duties & Responsibilities Developing fire safety & compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects throughout South Africa and abroad. Attending to the full range of design aspects relating to rational fire designs and sprinkler installations. Conducting fire risk analysis. Planning, designing, organizing, and controlling complete projects. Managing small and medium projects with none or limited guidance. Managing large projects on an experience-proven basis or as part of the company fire design management team. Professionally representing the company in client meetings, site meetings, and surveys. Assisting with the preparation of tender documentation and general project management administration. Developing briefs seeking approval for code equivalency. Ensuring that designs comply with Regulations, Codes of Practice, and statutory requirements, including NFPA, BS, SANS, and ASIB. Minimum Requirements: Experience & Qualification 5 years experience in the mechanical building services environment. 5 years experience in SANS. Deemed to satisfy and rational building fire safety design. Design of firefighting equipment, smoke extraction systems, stair pressurization systems, and fire sprinkler systems. Experience gained in a consulting environment working on MEP Building Services. Registered or planning to obtain ECSA professional registration status.
