Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Mine Surveyor to join their operations near Port Elizabeth. This role is fundamental to accurate mine planning, development, and production monitoring. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining survey control, measuring volumes, and ensuring that all mining activities conform to planned designs and regulatory requirements. Working within a well-established mining operation, this position offers the chance to utilize advanced surveying technologies and contribute to the precision and efficiency of extraction processes in the Eastern Cape.
Key Responsibilities
Establish, maintain, and verify survey control networks for underground and/or open-pit operations. Conduct regular surveys for mine planning, development, and production reconciliation, including volume calculations. Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and laser scanners. Prepare and interpret survey plans, sections, and reports for mine management and engineers. Ensure compliance with all relevant survey standards, legislation, and safety regulations. Collaborate closely with mine planners, geologists, and production teams to provide accurate spatial data in Port Elizabeth. Requirements National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in a similar mining environment. Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., Auto CAD, Civil 3 D, surveying-specific packages). Experience with underground and/or open-pit survey methods. Strong understanding of survey principles and their application to mining operations. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
