Fitter & Turner

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter & Turner to join our client in the meat industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment used in meat processing plants. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude with light electrical experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance on processing equipment such as grinders, slicers, and packaging machines Troubleshoot and repair machinery breakdowns to minimize downtime Fabricate or modify parts as needed to ensure machines are operating correctly Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and address them proactively Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment Communicate effectively with production staff and management regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs Qualifications : Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the food processing industry Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Electrical experience compulsory Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining Basic computer skills for equipment diagnostics and maintenance tracking Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed If you meet the qualifications and are interested in joining our team as a Fitter & Turner in the meat industry, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your experience and skills related to this role.
