Packhouse Assistant at Omnia Holdings Job Description The purpose of the job is to pack completed explosive products in a systematic manner to ensure that they are safe and secure. The incumbent must ensure that boxes are correctly weighed and labeled with specified information clearly listed. Qualifications Matric / Grade 12 Experience 1 year demonstrated experience in the assembly and packaging of explosives accessories through the use of an assembly line 1 year demonstrated experience in the application of the required occupational health and safety standards within an explosives environment Duties Ensuring that finished product is properly packed in boxes in prescribed quantities Ensuring that boxes are weighed and labelled accordingly Responsible for packing boxes containing completed units so that they are safe and secure Apply good housekeeping principles at all times Work safely, conforming to the occupational health and safety act and the explosives act at all times Meet daily production targets Ensure availability and uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components Prepare boxes by placing a small amount of glue at the bottom of a box, folding it, and then applying tape to seal the bottom of the box Ensure that the right amount of explosives are packed as per product box count Ensure corresponding labels are placed in completed boxes as per product specification Box to be closed, packed and palletised accordingly and wrapped with a shrink wrap When finished product is transferred to the Magazine, ensure that correct transfer documents attached as per procedure Job Competencies Job Knowledge Proven ability to perform duties under pressure Attention to detail Ability to meet daily targets Good hand-eye coordination Job Related Skills Ability to meet daily targets Basic arithmetic skill General Role Impacts Plant throughput and productivity Safety Employee relations Key Relationships Management Team Support Teams Production Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Administrative Industries Agriculture, Construction, Mining Machinery Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
