2nd Electrician

Overview Position: 2nd Electrician As a 2nd Electrician, you will be responsible for assisting the Chief Electrician in maintaining and repairing all electrical equipment and systems on board our vessel. This includes but is not limited to generators, motors, lighting, communication systems, and navigation equipment. You will work closely with other members of the engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems. Responsibilities Assist the Chief Electrician in maintaining and repairing all electrical equipment and systems on board the vessel Monitor and troubleshoot electrical systems to identify and resolve any issues Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed Assist in the installation of new electrical systems and equipment Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure the smooth operation of all systems on board Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical technology Train and mentor junior electricians as needed Qualifications MUST BE SHIP READY High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Electrician on board a vessel Valid Electrician's license or certification Knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used on ships Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work well in a team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to work long hours and be on call as needed Physically fit and able to work in a maritime environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
