Company Description Palucraft, established in Palucraft is an Accredited Skills Development Provider specialising in technical and regulatory compliance training for employers in the Mining, Manufacturing, and Construction industries. Role Description The Occupational Health and Safety Trainer's role is to plan, deliver, and conduct assessments for our industry-leading occupational health and safety training. Training will include, but not be limited to, the following: Health and Safety Representative Training Health and Safety Inductions Legal Liability Training Safety Management Systems Environmental Management Training Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner Courses The role will predominantly entail travelling to our Cape Town-based clients and conducting training at their premises, with limited training conducted online. Responsibilities Assist our Curriculum Designer in updating and creating the training materials, handouts, and lesson plans. Conduct workshops, inductions, and courses on various safety topics, including legal obligations, hazard assessments, and specific skills like environmental management. Advise the client's employees on safe work practices and support management in identifying training needs. Apply appropriate principles to train adult learners and engage them during sessions effectively. Stay current with and enforce safety regulations, such as those from OSHA, and advise on compliance. Perform safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards. Assist in incident investigations and provide recommendations for prevention. Keep accurate records of training activities and employee progress. Assess the impact of training and gather feedback to improve future programs. Track and monitor the progress of trainees. Conduct assessments as per the course and qualification requirements. Requirements & Qualifications Minimum 8 years as an OHS Practitioner and 5 years of experience conducting OHS training Minimum Higher Occupational Certificate: Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner (NQF Level 5) or Occupational Certificate: Safety, Health and Quality Practitioner (NQF Level 5) Facilitator Certificate of Competency issued by ETDP (Must) Assessor Certificate of Competency issued by ETDP (Advantageous) Moderator Certificate of Competency issued by ETDP (Wish) Sound understanding of OHS Act, ISO and SAQA-aligned qualifications Strong communication, facilitation, and report-writing skills. Valid driver's license. No criminal record. South African national or valid work permit (for foreign applicants). What to Expect from Palucraft We have in-house Curriculum Designers. Your role will be limited to advising on updates and alignment to best practice as a practitioner. We reimburse travel to the client's site if you use your own car, or you can use a company pool car. You will receive a cell phone allowance. We will provide you with a company laptop and the essential tools to perform your role.
