DescriptionIn this role, you will have the opportunity to shape and innovate the future of our product line, combining aesthetics, functionality, and user experience to create exceptional designs. Duties and responsibilities The employee accepts that he / she may be required to carry out any other duties and responsibilities as required by management based on operational requirements, such as : Research and development, Concept design and development, Identify trends, issues, or areas for improvement. Design, Good understanding of Engineering, Generate 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software, with a focus on sheet metal forming, bending, cutting, and assembly techniques. Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, stamping, welding, and forming. Ability to read & interpret engineering design and schematics with precision and accuracy. Collaboration and documentation will be required on all projects. Manufacturing support will be required for the R&D Assembly Team. Manufacturing data. Project Development and Management, Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality control, to ensure designs can be produced efficiently and meet project timelines. Track product design progress and communicate project updates to relevant stakeholders. Prototyping, Technical support, Factory support, Creating technical data, Creating fitment instructions, Creating BOMs, Creating Assembly Instructions, Maintain detailed records of work processes, changes and outcomes. Testing and Prototyping: Work with the engineering and R&D team to develop prototypes and test the product functionality, structural integrity, and manufacturability. Analyse and incorporate feedback from testing and manufacturing teams to refine designs and resolve any issues. Ensure final products meet performance criteria, quality standards, and customer expectations. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. Requirements Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in sheet metal design and manufacturing techniques. Proficient in both SolidWorks (required) and / or Solid Edge (beneficial) 7yrs + experience in 3D modelling Sheet Metal Experience is highly beneficial National Diploma : 3D Design, Industrial Design, Sheet Metal Specialist, Mechanical Engineering or BTech : Mechanical Engineering (Specifically looking for a technically qualified individual.) Experience in overlanding / outdoor product and vehicle accessory production design is beneficial. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation. Excellent Communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in addressing design challenges related to manufacturability and material use. Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Able to self-manage and seek out feedback from team members. Teamwork, interpersonal relationships, and cooperation.
