Finance and Operations Lead – AltGen South Africa We are working with an international renewable energy company that develops and supplies solar and clean energy systems. The company is expanding and needs a skilled Finance and Operations Lead to manage its financial function and the operational processes that support it, including logistics, imports, exports, and coordination across multiple entities. The role will be based in South Africa but will support teams operating in Tanzania and other regions. This position is ideal for someone who is CIMA or CGMA-qualified, holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and has five or more years of practical experience in finance and operations. You should have worked in a component sales or engineering environment, understand import and export regulations, and know how to manage finances and transactions across different countries and entities. Key Responsibilities Oversee all finance-related operations, including reporting, compliance, and financial controls. Manage imports and exports of components, ensuring all documentation, customs duties, and taxes are correct. Coordinate cash flow, inter‑company transactions, and reconciliations across various international entities. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts. Track and reconcile costs linked to component sales, logistics, and procurement. Ensure compliance with international tax and trade laws, including those applicable to Mauritius. Support leadership with financial insights and operational coordination across the group. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CIMA or CGMA qualification (management accounting focus preferred). At least five years of experience in a finance and operations role (preferably in component sales, engineering, or logistics). Strong understanding of imports, exports, customs, and tax regulations (experience with Mauritius is an advantage). Proven ability to manage cash flow, budgets, and the general ledger. Hands‑on experience with financial systems and good attention to detail. Based in South Africa (ideally Stellenbosch or surrounding areas).
