A client of ours, a major international renewable energy developer, is seeking an exceptional Senior Electrical Engineer with Competent Person certification to join their Cape Town team. Why This Role is Critical As the Competent Person, you'll have the authority and responsibility to safeguard lives and critical infrastructure across our renewable energy portfolio. Duties & Responsibilities Define and drive electrical HSE standards across construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance Cultivate a proactive safety culture that prevents electrical incidents Lead high‑potential incident investigations and implement corrective action plans Review quarterly HSE statistics and report directly to management Validate all electrical operation procedures to ensure maximum safety Desired Experience & Qualification Essential Qualifications: BEng / BSc / BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (preferred) Competent Person certification (mandatory) 10+ years' experience in renewable energy environment Comprehensive knowledge of technical codes, regulations, and standards for renewable energy projects Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to sites Your Professional Strengths: Exceptional attention to detail with organized approach to task management Commercial acumen with technical optimization mindset Proven ability to take ownership and drive results to completion Strong initiative to proactively identify and address challenges Excellent independent worker who thrives in collaborative environments Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Understanding of MS Project and Primavera scheduling tools Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English Afrikaans language ability is advantageous Interested? #J-18808-Ljbffr
