Introduction We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to join our team. Responsible for managing branch operations and to ensure that day-to-day branch activities are functioning at optimal levels. Management of Operational staff. The Operations Manager will provide strong operational support to the Branch Manager. Responsibilities Ensure all loaded vehicles are utilized according to guidelines & all are dispatched on time for delivery as planned day before. Follow up on allocated linehaul arrival times and report delays to Management and linehaul control. Floor Reports to be pulled, analysed & resolved daily. Check Floor Reports for aging stock and ensure FIFO is applied. Planning of daily headcounts for Ops requirements based on volumes. Regular Floor Walk with Supervisors/Checkers to ensure optimum housekeeping. Communicating with Clients on delivery queries & inquiries. Monitor Booking dates of Supply Chain Clients/ Delivery Booking for Express. Complete loading plan and discuss with OPS team with clear communication to loading team for execution. Ensure smooth handover process between day- & nightshift teams. Communicating with Stores on delivery delays. Report & investigate discrepancies such as shortages & damages on delivery & from linehaul vehicles. Taking Staff statements of incidents. Ensure Health and Safety are maintained & applied in your area of work. Monitor compliance of supervisors to meet deadlines for deliveries/ collections. Ensure & maintain a high standard of Service delivery (Undelivered Report). General Management of company assets – walls & wheels (In consult with Transport Manager). Apply discipline in the branch & ensure that discipline is always maintained. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping. Inform & update staff on new clients & requirements. Reporting of any issues to management. Ensure all stock takes are communicated & dates are adhered to. Ensure all debriefing issues & pods are resolved timeously. Ensure all Targets are met. Ensure that the Branch fleet is well maintained daily to satisfactory level and all vehicle problems to be reported immediately to the Transport Manager and Branch Manager. All reports to be submitted on time. Minimum Requirements Grade 12/Matric. Degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management or similar role. Valid Driver’s license. Own Transport essential. Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively. Strong understanding of operational procedures. Proficient in using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyse data and generate reports. Familiarity with company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to coordinate with different departments and branches effectively. Capability to conduct regular inspections and perform safety audits. Experience in training and developing team members. Skilled in streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Respect and Care: Always show respect, care for and treat everyone fairly, put people first.
