Your Team In this role you will provide 2nd line support for modern workplace tools, technologies, and services, ensuring the efficient and secure functionality of user hardware, software, and collaboration tools across the organisation. This role focuses on driving productivity improvements through the effective use of modern workplace platforms and cloud‑based solutions. Responsibilities Proactively support and maintain the modern workplace environment, ensuring timely deployment and management of end‑user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) and software (Microsoft, collaboration tools, security applications). Manage incident, service request, change, and problem records—including logging, investigating, resolving, and closing records in line with SLAs and company policies. Facilitate root cause analysis for recurring incidents and ensure long‑term solutions are implemented. Manage cloud‑based services (Microsoft, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), ensuring optimal performance and user experience. Assist in the implementation and support of collaboration tools like Slack, Teams, Viva etc. to enhance communication and collaboration across teams. Drive user adoption and engagement of modern workplace technologies by providing training, developing user guides, and facilitating onboarding sessions for new tools and services. Ensure that user access to systems, applications, and data complies with company policies. Engage with third‑party vendors for support and service enhancements, ensuring smooth communication for issue resolution, service upgrades, or expansions. Implement proactive monitoring of the modern workplace infrastructure and generate reports on system performance, usage trends, and areas for improvement. Use analytics to improve productivity, user satisfaction, and system health. Work closely with 3rd line teams to assist in the rollout of new workplace solutions and tools, ensuring smooth transitions into operational service. Support project teams by providing technical expertise and ensure that deployments align with business needs. Identify and implement automation opportunities within the modern workplace environment (e.g., through Microsoft Power Automate, Azure Automation and other tools) to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks. Qualifications Strong understanding of modern workplace solutions, including hardware (PCs, laptops, tablets) and software (Microsoft, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint). Solid working knowledge of cloud services, collaboration tools, and mobile device management platforms. Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11. Good understanding of security practices (NIST) for end‑user devices, including patch management, data encryption, and multi‑factor authentication. Ability to manage and prioritise workloads based on SLAs and business objectives. Experience in handling incidents, service requests, and problem management through ITSM platforms. Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar tools to streamline processes.
