We build a range of digital solutions from AI emerging technology applications, to custom AI tooling to solve visual content creation problems (at scale) for large multi‑national organizations. Our digital products are centered around enabling humans with AI for commercial content creation, and creating exceptional visual work. Blooms is currently growing fast as we enter the scale‑up side of our business, and is looking for an exceptional Art Director who is well‑versed in generative models and the AI production process. The Role We're looking for an individual contributor, mid‑senior level AI Art director with hands‑on experience with generative image/video models, and a working knowledge of photography. You'll explore cutting‑edge models, use creative workflows, and transform client briefs into content creation for large global brands. As the business grows there is a potential to lead teams. You’ll often work autonomously, but you won't be isolated. You'll collaborate closely with creative technologists, producer teams, as well as clients. This role will require an element of team and client‑facing interactions, and is ideal for someone who loves using new technology, experimenting, and solving problems end‑to‑end. Your super power is seeing a vision before execution, communicating this vision, and problem solving whilst maintaining brand aesthetics. You are a goal getter, a builder, and ruthless in creative vision. You get into the details and hands on to bring project over the line. Strong leadership skills, and works well with others. Loves the term “I don’t know, but I will find out.” What You’ll Do Solve complex creative challenges for global brands using state‑of‑the‑art AI models across image and video. Translate ambiguous client input into clear creative direction, visual references, and production‑ready outputs. Work closely with a strong team of creatives, technologists, and producers across Amsterdam, Cape Town, and Portugal. Explore, test, and push the boundaries of new models, tooling, and creative workflows. Champion Bloom’s vision of scaled, enhanced creative production, representing our standards to clients and partners. Reinvent and refine the production process continuously — staying curious, experimental, and ahead of industry shifts. Collaborate with creative technologists to merge storytelling, craft, and technical excellence, and co‑create the tools behind it all. Upskill and educate client‑side creatives and marketers through hands‑on workshops and knowledge‑sharing culture. What We're Looking For (Essential Skills & Experience) You have worked in an advertising agency with 10+ years of experience in an art director or creative director role. Experience working with top‑tier enterprise brands, CMOs, and marketing teams. Sharp decks, visuals, and winning ideas. Practical experience with generative image models from both open and closed source providers (BFL, Google, OpenAI, Bytedance, Alibaba, etc.). Experience building or extending workflows in ComfyUI, Weavy, n8n, or similar node‑based tools. Strong understanding of photography and video fundamentals. A proactive AI explorer, testing and experimenting with new technologies and applying them to real‑world use cases. Comfortable working in a high‑paced, collaborative creative environment. Bonus Points (Nice‑to‑Haves) Experience with traditional post‑production workflows. Experience with R&D/ Creative innovation. Experience working with 3D.
