Job Title and Reference LECTURER - ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN MIDWIFERY PNDI /PND II (RE-ADVERTISEMENT) Reference Number: REFS/ Directorate: Nursing Education and Training Number of Posts: 3 Location: Gauteng College of Nursing (GA-RANKUWA CAMPUS) Closing Date: Qualifications A Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate. A Basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of government notice R.425 (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. A post-basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC. Proof of current registration with SANC. A certificate in Assessor and Moderator will be an added advantage. Good communication, supervisory, report writing, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Computer literacy/ certificate (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A valid driver’s license. PNDI: A minimum of four (04) years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur with SANC. PNDII: A minimum of fourteen (14) years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur with SANC. Ten (10) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate and recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining the one (01) year Post Basic Qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC. Duties Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of student nurses in both clinical and theory. Guide and support student nurses effectively. Support vision and mission of the college through participation in meetings, committees, and college activities. Promote the image of the college. Implement assessment strategies to determine students’ competency. Participate in scholarly research and community engagement activities at the college. Develop, review, and evaluate curricula.
