PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To supervise and assist the team in the safe and cost-effective execution of all mechanical maintenance work. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: A recognized Trade Qualification (Section 13/26D) OR Proof of recognized completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) and a NTC2 (Recognized Trade Theory) Qualification is essential Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Artisan is Essential Foreman Certificate would be considered advantageous Medical certificate or medically fit in order to obtain one is essential COMPETENCIES: Legal knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act is essential KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Supervise the Conveyor workshop and maintenance activities. Guide, direct and assist Artisans with daily maintenance and construction activities. Maintain control of Engineering workshop and critical spares. Meet regularly with employees to analyze problems and maintain a healthy service and relationship between personnel and with clients Attend to callouts with regards to breakdowns Diagnose, analyze and repair faults on equipment and machinery during production / operation. Provide adequate spares for efficient maintenance and productivity levels Supervise maintenance of conveyors, vent fans, dams, silo (mechanical and boiler maker work) Plan belt extensions and maintenance (splicing, repairs, replacement, tests) Inspect fire suppression systems on the conveyor.
