Tug Master

Job Purpose We are looking for a dependable and safety-driven Tug Master to join our Operations team. This role is essential to ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft and supporting our Production and Stores departments in meeting operational targets. Note: Only applications through the above link will be considered About this Role As a Tug Master, you will be responsible for performing aircraft towing, repositioning, and pushback operations, while maintaining the Aircraft Towing Tug in excellent working condition. You’ll ensure full compliance with aviation safety regulations, uphold our operational standards, and play a key role in supporting seamless ground operations. Key Responsibilities Safely perform aircraft towing, repositioning, and pushback activities. Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections on the towing tug. Ensure basic maintenance, cleaning, and service interval compliance of the tug. Report any defects or operational concerns immediately. Maintain all required licences, permits, and medical certifications. Adhere to all safety protocols and aviation operational procedures. Requirements Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Valid Driver’s Licence and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP). Valid Radio Operator’s Licence (Aviation/Relevant). Medical fitness certificate. Experience in airside operations or ground handling is an advantage. Experience operating heavy-duty vehicles or machinery will be beneficial. Skills and Competencies Strong commitment to safety. Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail. Clear and effective communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment. Basic mechanical understanding. Reliability, accountability, and a proactive approach to operations.
