About the Role
Our client is looking for a responsible Fleet Driver with a Code 8 license to join their operations in Benoni, Gauteng . This role is integral to the company's day-to-day logistical needs, involving the transport of personnel, goods, and equipment within the local area and occasionally to nearby regions. The successful candidate will maintain the company's vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and presentable at all times, while providing a reliable and efficient transport service. This position requires a driver who is punctual, organized, and committed to upholding the company's standards for safety and service delivery in the Benoni area and across Gauteng .
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles (Code 8) for various transport duties, including deliveries, pickups, and staff transportation.
- Ensure all assigned vehicles are kept clean, well-maintained, and compliant with road safety regulations.
- Plan daily routes effectively to manage time efficiently and meet all scheduled appointments or deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or traffic violations promptly to the fleet manager.
- Provide courteous and professional service to all passengers and clients encountered during duties.
Requirements
- Valid Code 8 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience working as a fleet driver or a similar role, preferably in the Gauteng area.
- Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with the Benoni and surrounding Gauteng regions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent punctuality and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
